APPARATUS FOR CARRYING A PARCEL Field of the Invention This invention relates to luggage and more particularly relates to an apparatus to facilitate the carrying of parcels. Background of the Invention Several types of luggage are known for carrying goods and traveller's belongings, such as suitcases, dufflebags, briefcases, garment bags etc. These types of luggage are particularly helpful for a traveller carrying his or her personal belongings on a round-trip journey. However, such types of baggage are generally impractical for a traveller carrying goods that are meant to be left at the traveller's destination, and not accompany the traveller on his or her return journey. Generally, it is too expensive for the traveller to purchase a new piece of luggage each time he or she intends to leave goods at the destination, and carrying back an empty piece of luggage can be cumbersome and impractical. As a result of the foregoing difficulties, travellers frequently use parcels to carry their goods to the destination of their journey. An example of a parcel is a cardboard box containing goods, such that the parcel facilitates the transportation of the goods. However, as known to those of skill in the art, carrying parcels can be difficult, especially if the parcel is large, the contents are heavy, and/or it is necessary to carry other baggage in addition to the parcel. Further, the box can lose structural integrity during transportation, particularly if subjected to an airport luggage handling system. In order to address some of the foregoing problems, it is known to tie string around the box.The string can improve structural integrity of the box while providing a crude handle to carry the box. However, there are several disadvantages with string, in that it can be difficult to properly tie the string and if the box is heavy then the string is likely to cut into the hands of the traveller.Further, scissors or a knife is usually required to remove the string, which then destroys the string making it unavailable for reuse. As will now be apparent, discarding the string after a single use is an environmentally unfriendly use of resources.
